Ceramic sharpening rods are used to maintain the blades edge between whetstone sharpening. This ceramic sharpening rod will not sharpen your knife if it is completely blunt or damaged as it is more of a maintenance tool. To repair damaged knives, we strongly recommend the use of a whetstone. GLOBAL knives are sharpened at a 15-degree angle in the factory, and we recommend sharpening at this angle for best results.
